Maina was 15 when she was picked up and disappeared by Army Officers, to then be tortured to death. After more than a decade waiting for justice, 3 Army officers were finally convicted last month, but the commander was acquitted. Maina's mother appealed against this decision, but the case risks being close as due to political pressures, the district attorney decided not to bring forward the appeal.
