Amina is the wife of “disappeared” Masood Janjua and a mother of three, has a masters in Fine Arts and is a lawyer in Pakistan. She founded the Defence of Human Rights and Public Services Trust (@dhr_pk) in 2006 and is serving as its Chairperson.

She has been struggling along with victims and members of civil society to provide truth and justice to victims of enforced disappearances on a self-help basis since 2005. She has been an Executive Council member of AFAD since 2021. During AFAD's 8th Congress held in November 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, AFAD elected her as a South Asia Representative.

In May 2025, during the General Assembly of the International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearances (ICAED), Amina was elected as the Vice President for Asia.
