Emmanuel "Misty" Amistad is a veteran human rights defender. He started his involvement during martial law as a UP student activist. He has been involved in various church based groups since the late 80s - CBCP-LUSSA, CBCP-NASSA, PCPR, etc. He is currently the executive director of Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP). He is a council member of the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (@pahracampaigns), the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ), and the Freedom from Debt Coalition.
